CoderDojoCMX provides opportunities for attendees to participate in structured and/or freeplay content sessions.
Our structured content plan is tiered in coloured bands representing levels of knowledge. Within each band, modules are offered in specific topics such as scripting, web development, media, hardware and scratch programming.
Participants complete all modules in a particular band as well as a related project in order to progress to the next knowledge band.
CoderDodoCMX runs three streams at each weekly session where participants may chose the topic they wish to participate in. Stream 1 always presents content modules at knowledge band level 1 (white) so we aways have something for the new member to get started with. Stream 2 presents content modules at various levels tailored to the group needs. Stream 3 is a freeplay stream that allows participants work on their projects or explore areas outside of the structured content modules either on their own or in groups.
Topics are run on a four week cycle. Participants book into a topic and attend all sessions in that topic over the four week period. This allows a high degree of flexibility allowing participants dip in and out of CoderDojo on a schedule that suits them while allowing for new members to join and get a flavour of the initiative.
The following table shows the schedule for the year.
